Damghan – Damghan Azad University doctoral student announced the production of a solution to increase the shelf life of fresh pistachios and said: this substance increases the shelf life of pistachios from five days to two months.

In an interview, Mohammad Mehdi Kazemi, while stating that for the first time in the country, the solution of the formulation to increase the shelf life of freshly produced pistachios, said:

One of the problems of the agricultural industry is the short shelf life of many products, including pistachios. It causes microbial contamination and endangers human health.

Pistachio shelf-life is one of the problems of market significantly to storage them in warehouses.

Babian said that this solution is produced from the unique properties of some nanoparticles to control moisture and prevent pollution, adding:

This product does not pose a danger to humans while increasing durability.

How tthis new invented dilution preventing pistachios to be spoiled due to controlling moisture and microbial reasons.

PhD student in Chemical Engineering, Islamic Azad University, Damghan Babian Branch, said that research work has been done to produce the formulation solution:

This solution has already been tested as a pilot on fresh pistachio crop in the crop year.

Kazemi added: “One of the properties of the solution is that in addition to inhibiting the growth of microbial fungi, it increases the shelf life of pistachios from five days to two months.

According to the correspondent of Mehr, the solution of the formulation to increase the shelf life of pistachios was registered under No. 98246 of the State Property and Deeds Registration Organization.
